And I agree that NATO has indeed been the blocker for further expansion. There's a reason the front line states signed up so fast to joining NATO recently.
However, that should not blind us to NATO's grotesque and appalling acts of brutality. There are 5 dodgy NATO engagements I am aware of where article 5 has been invoked: Bosnia, Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
