The tricky part of zaps is that one person can donate an unbounded amount. You can mitigate this in two ways:
- make the score based on heads; for example 100 reputable npubs donated more than 1k sats. Fucking up with this is going to be hard because reputable npubs are hard to create. In all generality, you can create a function that gives more weight to the number of npubs donating rather than the amount.
- add friction, meaning fees; sure, two friends can zap in cycles, but they will incur a cost. You can add a x% fees, which btw can be your monetisation, or donate that to a third-party like a charity.
geyser (nprofile…f2t4) always had this potential problem of people gaming grants, and as far as I know it wasn't a big challenge, because they have fees.
