The problem with cylindrical space habitats above a certain size is that you get cylindrical weather formations. When the hab is in winter mode that means heavy snow-bearing clouds. HabMin has to spend a lot of effort balancing the atmosphere to avoid destabilizing the rotational axis. And then there’s the matter of lateral balance, if the cloud mass at one end of the cylinder is heavier, you get a precession building up, and if that gets neglected just a little too long you get these compression waves that run up and down the cylinder. They get strong enough eventually that you can surf them on an ordinary piece of insfoam. It’s hella fun and seriously illegal, especially if you dog down the bleed ports to prevent the wave dissipating.

But enough about me, what are you in for?
