Dem Vegas politician accused of journalist murder testifies: 'Unequivocally I'm innocent'
Former Democratic politician Robert Telles told a jury on Wednesday that he's innocent of killing veteran Las Vegas reporter Jeff German, who had penned critical stories about the official and his workplace conduct.

Robert Telles, a former Democratic Clark County administrator of estates, is charged with murdering Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative journalist Jeff German in September 2022. Telles took the stand to plead his innocence, claiming he was framed by a real estate firm for trying to fight corruption in his office. The prosecution has presented strong evidence, including DNA believed to be from Telles found beneath German's fingernails and cut-up pieces of a straw hat and shoes found at Telles' house.
