I did love the ad and thought it showed Thai people and Thai culture as “can do”—like, “Shoudn’t everyone do business here?” And it showed off scenery, vibrancy, food, etc. But I’m not Thai! Can’t tell people something isn’t offensive when they found it so.
I used to go to a Thai restaurant when I worked named Sabai Sabai. One day, I asked the owner what it meant. He said, it was like “things are good.” Akin to “pura vida” (Costa Rica) and “gezellig” (Netherlands).
