Oh my!!! 🤠I finally fulfilled a long time dream of mine I wasn’t even aware of! I have always loved the sound of a cello and it features in many arrangements of my songs - like in Nothing Else That Counts from my first album. Of course that’s not me playing in the recording but the amazing Boris Stansky.
While in France last summer, I bought a wonderful book called Suite Inoubliable (Unforgettable Suite) by Akira Mizubayashi - what a treasure! The book tells the story of a Japanese cellist who studies music in Paris during the second World War before he has to return to Japan where his destiny takes a tragic turn. I couldn’t help but listen to all the wonderful music that the book talks about; namely the suites for solo cello by Johann Sebastian Bach and the cello concerto by Edward Elgar. I then found the Meditations album by Mischa Maisky and fell in love with it.
So, at some point I saw myself playing and thought why not? Now‘s the time! It’s never too late to start something new and life is too short to wait for a better moment. So I bought a course on Udemy and rented this beautiful cello! Obviously I can’t play much at the moment but stay tuned! 😃 I‘ll let you know how it’s going!
