Hey i have a question to all you self-hosting enthusiasts.
I'm currently running a few services (both for myself and open for others) from my RPI 4b+ (4gb ram), i have a 1Gbps symmetrical unmetered connection that i pay maybe like 24 USD per month.
My problem is that i started worrying about if i should keep doing that.. my network is pretty stable but i live in a region that sometimes has power outages. And i also run everything from my raw IP.
Would it be a good idea to just switch to a 500Mbps unmetered VPS server and manage all that from the cloud? Or buy a cheaper 300Mbps one just to route the traffic to, so i don't expose my network to DDOS attacks?
I was thinking about metered ones since they usually have a faster connection, but i don't really know if 1TB monthly is enough.
I'm kinda stuck not knowing what way to go, i would be very happy if someone could give me a little hint š
