"content": "Are you asking what happens if the Android Open Source Project stops existing and they continue Android as a closed source OS? There would clearly be a fork of the Android Open Source Project both by the many companies using it without being Android OEM partners along with Android OEMs wanting it to remain open source. Google would keep a lot of the OEMs on board short term but they'd be handing over a lot of the Android ecosystem to others taking over development of AOSP from them.",
