If it was envisioned by Satoshi, he would create Monero in the first place.
Audability was a exchanged and obviously more important to Satoshi than privacy.
And I say that from a position of being glad we have something like Monero.
And yes, I know Satoshi was mailing about things featured in Monero, but it was from a “would be nice to have”, not neccessity.
