Going around making comments like that in the trades or a trade-adjacent community would get you marked as a stone cold idiot, but multiple of the most widely read people in the rationality community seem to have become respected and widely read for their "smart but wrong to anyone who has contact with the real world" reasoning and this is true of a lot of programming-adjacent stuff that's popular among programmers.
Anyway, I wonder why trades have the opposite culture with respect to this.
