I like “pretentious” art
Firstly because a lot of genuinely deep stuff gets labeled as pretentious by people who don’t get it
Secondly because even if sophistication is just being applied as an aesthetic to something that isn’t that sophisticated… it’s an aesthetic I like
I also like “indulgent” music, please go ahead with that 3-minute drum solo followed by a longer keyboard solo, because I bet you’ll have tons of fun playing it, and it’ll definitely sound that way
