Another one from communist Spain
Yesterday entered into force the Royal Decree 933/2021, which was approved in October 2021 but whose application has been extended three times due to the strong opposition it has raised in the tourism sector and the technical difficulties posed by its implementation.
It consists of the Ministry of the Interior having set up an official register of travelers to supposedly fight against terrorism and crime in which the personal data of all those citizens, both nationals and foreigners, who make a trip in our country will be filed.
All establishments that host guests, such as hotels, hostels or tourist apartments, will be obliged to share the data of their stays.
On the other hand, car and car rental agencies are also included and have their own form format that they must share with the Ministry every time a user rents a car or contracts a trip.
Companies that do not communicate such data to the Ministry as stipulated in the decree face an infraction of up to €30,000.
The form that companies must share includes 42 different pieces of information such as name and surname, sex, ID card number, nationality, date of birth, place of habitual residence, telephone numbers, e-mail, number of travelers, relationship and transaction data.
This last aspect is especially controversial because here the traveler must share his account number in case he paid by transfer or his card number in case the transaction was made through the card.
