Well... that's one way to dump old baggage.

So for context, for the last few years I've been saying I'll do the OSCP qualification. I've even paid for the training access. Now, in the process of going through the material (and even one exam attempt), I realise that I find it INCREDIBLY boring. In short, yeah, breaking stuff is a bit interesting... but not enough to make me sit down and spend ages on a hypothetical vulnerability in some sandbox.

I'm not a penetration tester, and this course has ultimately solidified that the "break it" part of InfoSec isn't anywhere near as fun as the "build it" part.

Anyway... so despite finding it boring, I've always told myself I WILL complete it (I hate unfinished stuff). But it's also not cheap to keep paying for access.

So it's come to the point where I decide to renew or not.

I decided, you know what, one last push. One last bit of focus. I can do that.

Clicked to renew... BOOM. Massive fucking price increase.

Price increase above what is listed as current price on their website.

Yeah... nar... I'm not THAT interested. I know OffSec have been going more-and-more commercial over the last few years, but this is enough proof to me that they're now more focused on profit/business over community that it will just be a gradual down-hill slide for them.

At least now I can focus on the other learning and quals I've been wanting to tackle for ages but I've never let myself do as I've always said I should complete the OSCP first.

FREEDOM!
