I think people ought to consider that the Trump regime might actually be able to keep prices for a lot of consumer goods sorta kinda under control through a combination of child labor and prisoner slave labor. The economic arguments to allow immigration have always had the potential unintended consequence of creating room for really dire solutions to the problems that arise from immigration crackdowns.
