Weirdly, people have become a lot more eager to talk about stuff with me here in the last week. It could be a holiday effect - I'll see if it goes away - or it could be that some attempts to tweak my style to be more inviting have paid off. I'm (belatedly) guessing that just explaining things clearly is not a good way to start a conversation.\n\nFor example, admitting that I'm confused about the magnetic and electric limits of Maxwell's equations seems to have brought out people who know about them, or at least want to talk about them.",
