Current design of the soon to be released nostr.wine public relay filter:
- user adds the relay with /NPUB at the end
- global requests from their client will return only content from your follows + their follows
- if you click on a note in your client, we’ll pull all the replies that we have from our public relay aggregator.
- if your client requests a profile we’ll load their metadata from our public relay aggregator.
- by default the relay will not filter note replies at all. This way you won’t be missing a reply in the thread you want to read just because the user is not in your direct network. If this ends up being a spam issue, we can enable optional follows+their follows filtering for replies as well.
The idea is to supplement users who want to use only paid relays with public relay data thats relevant to you, or people close to you. Anything else you’d like to see?
