As we have been dealing with stability issue on our XMPP server for some days, if you experience any connectivity issues, please do ping us via email (support@) or on fedi. We hope the issue is contained atm but could be it isn't.
We suspect it has to do with flooding certain MUC's with presence stanza when room is bridged to Matrix room via bifrost. Especially large inflated matrix rooms with thousands of inactive (but present in the room) users. Seems to be specially bad when additionally room is bridged to telegram and others.
So keep us posted if things are weird, we are keeping an eye and hope to work out some solution next week if issue comes back
