To the north of the Netherlands there are a bunch of islands. The biggest of these, Texel, has only a single ferry bringing people from/to the mainland.

You can only buy tickets from the mainland side. All tickets are always two-way.

There's no date on the return fare, you can go back whenever you like. They don't even check for tickets from the island-side.

Being on the island proves you've bought a ticket.
