Interestingly, here in Germany, US Country music was and I think is still quite popular. My parents, already 30y ago, liked it a lot and we're pretty deep into this hobby. They bought western clothes, went to festivals etc. Garth Brooks, John Denver, Willie Nelson... I still have some songs in my head 🙈
But I don't think they ever combined this 'live style' (from their point of view) with racism in any kind.
But I will ask my mother about this next time 🤔
