We were in the Fates era of Fire Emblem at that time, so it was still on the periphery of the Nintendo main lines.
I think since Three Houses did Fire Emblem really land itself in the grander mainstream, I could be very wrong with that assessment 🤣
Don't get me wrong, I think Awakening really was the game that made the biggest impact on embedding Fire Emblem in the west. After that game was released I was able to have conversations outside the Internet about the franchise.
Even most of those conversations were "Who did you wife?"
