As Labour looks to regional Mayors to develop localised growth plans, are we about to see a shift to a more regionalised economy (mirroring the sort of devolved economic pattern of Germany)?
If so, while the term 'levelling up' may have been banished, shifts to more 'joined up' regional economies might well be a key part of how to tackle both regional inequality & the UK's dire record on productivity...
Its way too early to tell if this will be a success but it looks promising!
