Let me add: I honestly do not think many people, especially of the non-technical variety, will make the connection that, “Hey wait, this could happen to Linux and Mac too.”
This is so broad and affects so many things that the surface-level perception may be all that carries. If I was MS I would be doubling down on messaging right now.
