given the way incentives are structured, i don’t think mining was meant to be profitable.
like if we 3-4x the hash, there is just no way anyone could reliably mine to stay afloat, but profit isn’t the only incentive, securing the network is the primary incentive, and every holder has that incentive.
i think we are headed to a place where mining isn’t done to make money, mining is done to secure your own money, to do your part.
and if u hit a block, awesome, it’s just a random bonus.
think mining today is more centralized as a function of its transition to main stage
