The Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., celebrates its 50th anniversary with a revamped campus and innovative initiatives. A joint project with SOM and Selldorf Architects has transformed the museum's exterior with a mural by Nicolas Party. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Sugimoto is extending his previous work at the entrance, creating a sculpture garden with audience-friendly pieces near the perimeter and more abstract works towards the center. The Hirshhorn has also ventured into reality TV with "The Exhibit: Finding the Next Great Artist" and partnered with Smithsonian Channel to promote racial justice after George Floyd's murder in 2020.
