I read about the foreigners thing. Basically ton of foreigners were brought in for a variety of expertise but in the interim 20 years China has caught up and those people weren't really needed anymore so yeah they capitalized on the pandemic to get rid of them. on the one hand sucks for them but on the other hand it feels weird as an american to see a government that acts in the interests of its own people.
