"Insights and analytics"? I wonder what that means in practice. If I know Meta, it means they'll link your Fedi account to all the other information they hold about you to target advertising (a) on their own sites, if you also hold a Meta account, and (b) on other sites that use Meta as an ad-broker.
I'm not sure whether blocking Threads helps to stop the creepiness. I don't know whether your bio, likes and toots are sent to Meta's servers anyway, but merely not displayed to Meta's users. I wonder if the only benefit of blocking Threads is to nudge Threads users into opening proper Fedi accounts. I'd be interested to hear from someone who knows.
