No-one should be “pleased to announce” a conference that is fully in-person.
We live in the 21st century and I have attended successful conferences that were 100% online with EXTREMELY successful networking built in.
I like travelling, but conferences are not a good way to see the location beyond the conference room and some business district restaurants. They are, however, the perfect petri-dish for picking up an illness, I noticed.
