I just watched a fantastic short film from The New Yorker on some clever conservation biology trying to turn around the decline in desert tortoises in the Mojave desert. When people move into the desert, that greatly increases the numbers of ravens, and the ravens eat the young tortoises. Instead of just killing ravens, one approach being used is to teach the ravens to avoid the tortoises.
It’s worth a watch.
