In a two day trip during daylight, I saw old factories covered in foliage, businesses sitting abandoned while tree branches and bushes burst through its’ foundation, and old houses from a different era with obvious structural issues due to humanity’s abandonment and nature’s urge to take back what it owns.

[...]

Soon after the trip began, we got word that we would have to be at that stop for longer than we expected. The wait time was 5 hours -which was about 4 hours longer than it should have been. After exiting the train, we both retreated to sitting around and waiting until I train arrived. After about an hour, my older brother turned to me and offered a simple question: “have you ever just stopped and observe the people around you?”.

My answer to his question was outright confusion, his explanation of it sounded weird and outright creepy, but due to my new founded boredom, my dead game boy, and my refusal to read one more word out of the magazine my Mother bought me, I joined in. Soon, a deep epiphany had come to my young thought after gazing over people’s actions within the busy train station: we humans are a lot similar than we like to think.」
