I don't yet understand why riroriro are in decline around Ōtautahi. It's not just around our house either, as they show the same decline in my counts at Lincoln University. When I get a chance, I'll need to look closer at what they're doing in my city wide counts. It's odd to see their numbers heading in the opposite direction to other endemic forest birds.
