I get the impression you're on that path. One thing I think is interesting about Zosimos is that he developed basically the same principles as the European alchemists. I would love to do a comparison of Zosimos with the texts in the Ritman library. Unfortunately, a lot of his writing is still untranslated - iirc, its written in Syriac.
