I'd say we are already in a recession in the US. At 35T debt and growing, it is only going to get worse before it gets better.
If it gets as bad as 1929, people will be worried about their next meal and not buying BTC. So the demand would be coming from the 1 percenters I guess.
A better question is: When the shit hits the fan, will you be willing to donate some of your BTC to help others in your local community?
