Someone has to subsidize "free" work.
Whether that's grants, donations, VCs, or a developer's own money & time. At Nostr's current scale, optional MRR won't cut it. More needs to be done to get the masses, optimizing for business revenue with current products won't pay the bills. Premature optimization.
Not saying not to try and not to support in this way, just the reality that it would be more about a nice KPI and good feeling more than it is actually solving something at scale.
