Something I’ve noticed more and more on job boards: companies want one engineer who has multiple simultaneous specializations.
They don’t want a power-oriented electrical engineer. They’d better also be an expert in circuit board design, a computer scientist, and a CAD/Creo/Solidworks expert as well.
Bottom line - it’s like they want to hire one “super-engineer”, instead of two or even three engineers. (And probably pay them the same as just one engineer.)
