The General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics in Dubai Police has contributed to the exchange of 44 countries with 372 important information last year as part of its commitment to combating organized crime and the global spread of drugs and psychoactive substances. This led to the arrest of 308 international suspects and the seizure of 2 tons and 259 kilograms of drugs, including cocaine, heroin, and marijuana, as well as 7 million and 920,000 tablets. The General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics also successfully monitored and blocked 1923 drug dealers' accounts on social media platforms. Colonel Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to the General Commander of the Criminal Investigation Department, said that these results come as part of Dubai Police's international efforts to combat drugs through specialized teams and the use of advanced artificial intelligence technologies, as well as close cooperation with law enforcement agencies worldwide. He emphasized that Dubai Police attaches great importance to international cooperation in combating organized crime, which enhances the protection of communities and their safety. Colonel Khalid bin Muzahim, Director of the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics, stressed the importance of international cooperation in combating drug trafficking, citing that Dubai Police has achieved significant accomplishments in the past five years, including the exchange of 894 pieces of information with 74 countries worldwide, which led to the arrest of 550 international suspects and the seizure of 29 tons and 450 kilograms of drugs. Dubai Police has also successfully executed several qualitative operations against drug trafficking, including Operation "Sugar Cane", which resulted in the arrest of a key member of one of the largest organized crime groups involved in smuggling drugs between South America and Europe, and the seizure of 22 tons of sugar mixed with cocaine, as well as Operation "Fidau States", which dismantled a large international gang involved in drug trafficking and money laundering. Colonel Khalid bin Muzahim emphasized that the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics continues to follow up on its international efforts with other efforts on the local level through specialized field teams working to protect society from the scourge of drugs, reduce their spread, and arrest drug traffickers and dealers, especially in light of their development of new methods in promoting and smuggling drugs.
