Walking back from the mailbox to the front door today I noticed something moving behind me on the sidewalk. I turned, and it was a smallish white, female dog trotting up to me.
I'd never seen it before, but she had a collar and was well fed. Probably a neighborhood dog.
I stooped to pet her, and she was all over me, standing up to lick my face, happily accepting my petting.
Then ... off she went, trotting off across the street and away.
Left me with a smile and a happy feeling. Made my day.
