Yeah I wanted to connect it to Cairo, but was unsure of the connection. The founding of Cairo is interesting, though I can't recall enough of it to retell it with confidence. There was no city there before some time in the middle ages, and the sultan who founded the city was very interested in the Pyramids and did some kinds of excavation. Sorry for the vagueness, its just another thing I need to look more into.
