Amish community in Ontario fined $400,000 for failing to download ArriveCan app
The government has put liens on their property due to the outstanding fines. The Amish weren't even aware of the liens until one tried to get a loan to buy cattle. They don't own smartphones, and they don't have electricity to charge smartphones.
The Amish had been crossing the border with the U.S. during lockdown to help Amish in the U.S., and to date women outside their community.
