Unlike many here I’m still a fan of Twitter/X. Elon’s purchase of the platform has massively expanded the Overton window and has been a net positive for free speech.
But that stance has placed him firmly in the crosshairs of every powerful interest who wants to limit free speech and control the flow of information.
You’re seeing it already with the regulatory moves by the EU and other attacks on Elon. It remains to be seen whether X, as a centralized company, can continue to protect free speech even with Elon at its helm.
That’s where Nostr comes in.
Nostr serves as the credible backup plan for when governments seize or ban X.
