#WordWeavers 17. Are real people you know ever the basis for characters in your story?
Not as the basis but I do often give my characters some traits of real people I know. And all of them have a part of myself as well, I am sure, even if I rarely do that deliberately.
One example is a friend from uni who knew just about everyone so we joked her brain had a large section labelled "knowing people". It's part of my characterisation of the god Hermes.
