When I talk to German friends, some of whom were children during the Nazi period, and when I read about this period, what I hear repeatedly:
The millions of Germans who willingly bought into the mass delusion that Hitler was a divinely ordained savior figure would never have admitted that they were spectacularly duped, had Germany not been defeated.
