It seems with social safety nets, the breeding becomes less extreme, like humans intuitively pursuing a strategy that fits the environment.
If there is anything to those points, rising poverty might be the final sell out of humanity some wealthy people could theoretically use to increase the wealth difference between the castes (absolute numbers having become irrelevant long ago). Think it's intentional or more of a side product?
And to water shortages, forest fires... how many humans seems to be less relevant as what they do, like burn fossil fuels or entice cows to fart.
