It's my second year as BSDCan con chair, and I'm pondering long-running tech con succession planning.
I think the proper term for a con chair is two years.
The first year, you straighten out the big existing problems. (There will always be big existing problems.)
The second year, you ease your replacement into their role.
The third year, you leave.
