Twitter people ask me why I’m still using the Fesiverse, Fediverse and Nostr ones asking me why I’m still on Twitter.
Twitter: you cannot easily move a few thousands of followers to another platform. Next to this, I really want to share „knowledge“ and tips to a broad audience. Hiding stuff to beginners won’t make their lives easier. This is also why I publish code on GitHub instance of self hosted instances.
Fediverse/Nostr: first, my account was just for playing around but at some time
npub1t7dmr2xue8zaxsxhy2xkdja0nx6f8cu8y8l7hfksw98y773djkgquzpqpp (npub1t7d…pqpp) asked me on Twitter because of my FreeBSD content, if I’d like to move over to the BSD Cafe. At this point, I had no emotions by switching the Fedi instance and I moved over to the BSD cafe. From browsing once a month it switched to a almost daily based one, now. Why? Thanks to
npub1t7dmr2xue8zaxsxhy2xkdja0nx6f8cu8y8l7hfksw98y773djkgquzpqpp (npub1t7d…pqpp) I found him and many other ones (also on the bsd network instance and other ones) in the Fediverse, sharing the same mindset. I also got hinted to the weekly FreeBSD Jail meeting where I try to participate as often as possible again with a really veeerrryyy open and friendly community. It’s like a small family this community and I honestly may say, this differs completely from Linux ones (but this is off topic and shouldn’t matter here right now).
However, I always tried to avoid being on social media and now I’m in the Fediverse and Twitter. I like both ones and ma use Twitter more often, but here I’m home.
Thanks to everyone! Have a nice weekend!
