No matter what we tell young people now, about how being an asshole & rapist & cheat & liar is a bad thing, all they have to do is look at their phones for five minutes & they're inundated with evidence that no, it's not a bad thing - it's how you achieve success in life. It makes you president and/or a billionaire.
Most grownups just don't have the credibility with youth to overpower that.
