Different vet today, seemed to be more experienced with ducks. She checked her out, but thought my guess-diagnosis of soft tissue damage in the hip / pelvis was plausible and agreed that there wasn’t anything more to be done. Quite a lot of muscle wastage, she said, so even if she had thought there was a surgical fix she would advise against because of the difficulty doing rehab.
