Maybe, but his sentence was within the legally established guidelines. Any anger about his circumstances should be directed at the judge in his case, and not any greater notion of "them". He was convicted by a jury of his peers after a trial where he was represented by competent counsel, and the judge made the decision to sentence him to life based largely on the evidence presented at the trial supporting the prosecutor's contention that he attempted to contract the killing of 5 people. Then, he lost his appeals to overturn the conviction with the appeals court again pointing to the evidence that he attempted to hire a hit man to murder 5 people. On paper, his sentence may be seen as overly harsh, and I am one of the people who believe it was an excessive sentence, but he was most definitely afforded due process within the bounds of the law.
