I say this as someone who might make this decision soon so that I can get a paycheck to support my family.
If I accept a job working on something other than #PHP, would that diminish my relevance in the community? I might also be less inclined to work on the open source PHP projects I maintain.
I feel like I’m at a weird crossroads, and even if I find something PHP-adjacent, now, I’ll keep arriving at this crossroads until I retire, unless the ecosystem begins providing more opportunities.
