I heard that the district is getting rid of IEPs. (No, IEPs are federal law.) They are doing away with IEPs and giving every kid an aide that stays with them in the classroom instead. (No, aides wouldn't be in place of an IEP.) The neighboring district is doing it, and we're next. (I haven't heard that, but if it were true, it would not necessarily be bad. Most kids with IEPs should be in general education classrooms...) Explain that. (Well, in a perfect world, we wouldn't need special education. Kids would be identified early and placed in programs that helped support them, like preschool.) Oh, so indoctrination. That's answer? Indoctrination.
Holy shit. And two hours later, with me even conceding that I thought her views justified her voting for Trump and encouraging her to move to states that are likely to eliminate no-fault divorce, she still was not happy with my answers.
They don't make sense. There is no talking to them. They are crazy.
