"content": "I’m by no means any authority on the Matrix protocol, I’ve just been casually watching the project all the way back since they used to have the vector.im instance (that was my first account), but nonetheless I keep finding more things like: https://were.social/notice/Aa6Cy89IEgkINeko6K\n\nMeanwhile there’s a reason that XMPP tries to be as stateless as reasonably possible, while it feels like Matrix was just some VC startup coming in that assumed it just knew better than all the protocols before it, and probably making plenty of short-sighted design decisions.",
